UniFirst Named As A ‘best Performing Company

WILMINGTON, MA () – UniFirst, a North American leader in the supply and servicing of uniforms, workwear, and protective clothing, has been named a “best performing” company for 2011 by two nationally recognized publications, The Boston Globe and Boston Business Journal (BBJ).

In being named to “The Boston Globe 100” and to BBJ’s “Massachusetts’ Top 150 Companies,” UniFirst was recognized for its notable financial performance in 2011, with respect to growth in revenues, profits, return on shareholders’ equity, and stock price performance.

UniFirst has earned a listing on the Globe 100 ever since it was first published 24 years ago; a distinction shared by only three other Massachusetts based companies–Raytheon, TJX, and Eaton Vance Corporation. This year UniFirst was ranked #53 on the Globe 100, up from #66 last year. Meanwhile, UniFirst was ranked #39 out of the 150 companies on the Boston Business Journal listing, essentially maintaining its position from last year when it was #38.

In noting his company’s financial achievements, UniFirst President and CEO Ron Croatti said, “We have a great group of employee Team Partners throughout the U.S. and Canada who can take a bow for our financial performance. Receiving such recognition is a direct reflection of their dedication and I’d like to thank them all for the valuable contributions they continually make to our company’s financial success.”
