Denison High School Robotics Team proudly wears Tricolor Micro Pique’ Polos that were donated by UniFirst.
The Denison High School Robotics Team from Denison, Texas, was dressed to impress as they headed to the state robotics competition December 7–9 for the eighth year in a row. Composed of 44 students, the team received brand new polo shirts at the beginning of the school year from UniFirst Corporation.
The Denison Robotics Team proudly wears their UniFirst Tricolor Micro Piqué Polos that are smooth, snag-resistant, and moisture wicking with three colors on the shoulders and personalized with the team name on the left chest. When UniFirst branch manager Carl Beauregard heard that a few of the students on the team needed new team uniforms for a “marketing presentation” to fundraise and solicit community support for the team, he was determined to get new polo shirts for all 44 team members, including Denison Robotics team instructors Spencer Barnett and Aaron Pridemore, so they could look their best throughout the competition season.
“There was no way that I was going to outfit only a few of the students with new polo shirts,” said Beauregard. “They’re great kids who have been working so hard and they all deserve to feel a sense of pride in how they look as representatives of their school. It was really important to me to do this for them.”
Since the first robotics competition in October, the team has won all the district and regional competitions, and placed third out of 700 teams in the state competition. The state-level event was hosted by the State of Texas and sponsored by BESTinc.org, an organization that inspires students to pursue careers in engineering, science, technology, and mathematics through robotics design.
“We’re so proud of these kids. They’ve worked so hard at every competition,” said Barnett. “We’re very grateful to UniFirst for making us look good.”
“UniFirst made our team look great in the polo shirts and the kids are so excited to have received them,” said Pridemore. “We had a reporter visit us to take pictures and write a story in the local paper. I told her that this is the best that our team had looked and that it’s all thanks to UniFirst.”
