UniSafe® — HACCP/GFSI-conscious food safety clothing services

When food is your business, the safety of your product is vital to long-term success, and careful control of everything you do in your facility is critical to achieving regulatory compliance.
That's where your HACCP/GFSI plan comes in, and why you need a uniform supplier who has instituted internal processes that complement the Prerequisite programs and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) you already have in place.
Minimize cross-contamination risks
UniFirst's Product Protection Process (PPP) is a portal-to-portal procedure (view Process Flow Chart) specifically designed to help minimize cross-contamination threats from being carried on uniforms and other worker garments. PPP begins right at your facility's location and extends throughout all our handling, laundering, and finishing to safely deliver hygienically clean garments back to you. Upon pickup, soiled clothing is carefully sorted by material, color, and soil level. Then, our laundering facilities hygienically launder your uniforms via scientifically developed, microprocessor-controlled washing processes and high temperature drying and finishing cycles. Optional poly-bag deliveries further safeguard workwear.
Laboratory proven protection
UniSafe® Service from UniFirst is a proven preventative approach to potential microbiological hazards in food supply safety, and works effectively to reduce microbiological contamination to levels approaching virtual sterility. In an independent laboratory study, the UniSafe® Service program was measured, monitored, and its effectiveness documented. Lab tests showed that the UniFirst Product Protection Process (PPP) is a consistent pathogen reduction methodology for laundering and processing soiled food-related work garments.
