Wilmington, Mass. (May 2024) — UniFirst Corporation(NYSE:UNF), a North American leader in providing customized business uniform programs, facility service products and first aid and safety services, and partner of Hendrick Motorsports, proudly announces a donation of $10,000 to the National Guard Relief Foundation. This donation matches the funds raised during a charity auction organized by the Chase Elliott Foundation.
The auction, coinciding with NASCAR’s Official Throwback Weekend at Darlington Raceway, featured autographed racing gloves worn by 2020 NASCAR Cup Series champion Chase Elliott. The gloves, which paid tribute to Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s 2014 DAYTONA 500 victory in a Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet sponsored by the National Guard, were a significant draw for racing fans and collectors alike.
All proceeds from the auction were dedicated to the National Guard Relief Foundation, a charitable organization aimed at providing financial assistance and support to National Guard members and their families in times of need. The foundation’s mission is to ensure that those who serve our nation have access to the resources they require during difficult times, whether due to deployment, natural disasters, or personal hardships.
“UniFirst is proud to support the National Guard Relief Foundation,” said David Katz, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing at UniFirst. “Matching the funds raised allows us to make a meaningful difference in the lives of National Guard members and their families. Our mission is to serve the people who do the hard work, and this donation reflects our corporate values and dedication to that mission.”
Elliott, who drove a special throwback No. 9 UniFirst Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 during the event, shared his thoughts: “It’s been an honor to participate in this initiative, which not only celebrates a memorable moment in racing history but also supports a cause that benefits so many. I am grateful to UniFirst for their generous donation and their ongoing support of the Chase Elliott Foundation’s efforts.”
