WILMINGTON, MA – UniFirst Corporation has announced it is now offering Flame Resistant (FR) work uniforms made from Tecasafe® Plus, the newest inherently flame resistant fabric on the market.
Manufactured under the UniFirst Armorex FR® brand, Tecasafe Plus work uniforms are noted for their comfort and meet NFPA 70E and 2112 compliance standards by offering Category 2 electric arc protection, with an ATPV rating of 8.4 for shirts and coveralls and a 9.3 ATPV rating for pants.
In test trials conducted by the fabric manufacturer and the Naval Sea Systems Command in Norfolk, VA, Tecasafe Plus was favored 4:1 by wearers for comfort over other FR fabrics, said David Osbon, protective apparel product manager at UniFirst.
Osbon said UniFirst is offering a free Tecasafe Plus fabric sample swatch to anyone interested in feeling firsthand the comfort of the protective material. Requests may be made by visiting UniFirst.com or by calling UniFirst at 888-879-2169.
